︎ CAMILLA RUTHERFORD
Camilla Rutherford is a New Zealand-based photographer known for her emotive storytelling, adventurous spirit, and deep connection to people and place.
Her work spans portraiture, documentary, and environmental photography — often capturing wild landscapes, colourful weather, and the human stories that move through them. Camilla’s images reflect her love for real connection, raw emotion, and honest beauty.
Originally from the UK, she now lives on a farm in Aotearoa with her husband, two sons, and their dog. When she’s not behind the camera, she’s growing food, cooking it, and telling stories around the dinner table.
Camilla has worked for leading publications including National Geographic, and her work has been widely recognised. Her work has won numberous awards, including NZ Geographic Photographer of the Year and NZ Press Photographer of the Year.
Whether she’s deep in the mountains, on assignment in remote communities, or shooting portraits at home, Camilla brings empathy, intuition, and a natural eye for storytelling to everything she does.
